GTM Engineer
YC-Backed AI Startup | Remote UK / US
Salary: Up to £110,000 + equity
Location: Remote - UK
Travel: Approx. 20%
Stage: Early-stage, high-growth AI
The Opportunity
We're partnering with a fast-growing, YC-backed AI company building infrastructure for one of the fastest-growing areas of enterprise AI.
The business has grown revenue 10x since August 2024 and is currently growing approximately 20% month-on-month, with enterprise traction including major financial institutions and Fortune 10 organisations.
They're now looking for a GTM Engineer to help build the next stage of their commercial engine.
This isn't a traditional SDR, Account Executive or Sales Engineer position.
It's a role for someone who wants to build and sell.
You'll own customers from identifying the right ICP and generating outbound pipeline through discovery, technical demos, close and initial onboarding - while simultaneously building the systems, automations and playbooks that make the GTM motion repeatable.
What You'll Do
- Own the full customer lifecycle from outbound prospecting through close and initial onboarding
- Identify target accounts and build outbound campaigns
- Cold call, prospect through LinkedIn and generate your own pipeline
- Lead discovery calls with CTOs, VPs of AI and engineering stakeholders
- Run product demonstrations and technical screen shares without relying on a dedicated Sales Engineer
- Navigate technical validation and commercial conversations
- Convert prospects into customers and support their initial onboarding
- Build AI-powered GTM workflows, automations and internal systems
- Experiment with tools such as Claude, Cursor, MCPs and other AI-native technology
- Develop repeatable GTM playbooks that future hires can scale
- Feed customer insight directly back into product and engineering

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What We're Looking For
We're deliberately open-minded about your exact job title.
You could currently be working in GTM, technical sales, forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, startup operations or even software engineering and looking to move closer to customers.
What matters is that you're a high-agency builder who wants commercial ownership.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Around 2–5 years' experience in a B2B technology/startup environment
- Evidence you've actually built something using AI — an agent, automation, workflow, script, internal tool or similar
- Experience generating pipeline and speaking directly with customers
- Confidence communicating with technical stakeholders
- Strong learning ability and first-principles thinking
- A willingness to cold call, experiment and do the unglamorous work required to build something from scratch
- The ability to operate independently in a fast-moving startup
- Genuine interest in owning the entire customer journey rather than one narrow stage
If you're coming from sales, we'll want to understand your outbound numbers, pipeline generation and commercial results.
If you're coming from engineering, we'll want to understand what you've built and why you want to move closer to GTM and customers.
Particularly Interesting Backgrounds
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous, but isn't essential:
- AI / Generative AI
- Voice AI
- LLM infrastructure or orchestration
- Developer tooling
- Forward-deployed engineering
- YC or early-stage startups
- Healthcare technology
- Financial services / FinTech
- Enterprise security or technical procurement
- Telephony, STT/TTS or conversational AI

The Type of Person Who'll Thrive Here
You won't need a month of shadowing before getting started.
You'll be someone who learns by doing.
You're comfortable being handed an ambiguous problem, figuring it out, building a solution, testing it and improving it.
One morning you might be building an AI-assisted outbound workflow.
That afternoon you could be cold calling prospects.
The next day you might be screen-sharing the product with a VP of AI.
If that variety sounds exciting rather than chaotic, this could be a very good fit.
Interested?
If you're a technically curious commercial person - or a technical builder who wants to become more commercial - we'd particularly like to hear from you.
You don't need to tick every box.
But you should be able to point to something you've built, sold or created from scratch and explain why you're excited about doing more of all three.
