About Us

Appvia is a cloud-native consultancy and platform provider helping organisations build, secure and scale in the cloud, with offerings such as self-service platforms, governance, cost optimisation and AI accelerators.

Partnering with public cloud providers, we work across the public and private sector to help customers build modern cloud platforms, embed platform engineering best practices, improve governance, and optimise costs to unlock developer velocity and accelerate delivery practices that make cloud a competitive advantage.

As we continue to grow our client base and support increasingly complex transformation programmes, we are hiring a Client Principal / Technical Engagement Manager to take ownership and lead our major strategic accounts and act as the senior bridge between our technical teams and our clients’ senior stakeholders, to ensure value realisation, account growth and delivery.

Interview process - 3 stage

  • Discovery conversation with our Talent Acquisition team.
  • Technical Interview deep dive with Head of Solution Architecture.
  • Final Interview with CEO and Hiring Manager.

Important

You must either hold active SC, or be eligible for SC:

  • British Passport or ILR
  • To have resided in the UK for at least the last 5 years.
  • Have no criminal records.
  • Have no financial irregularities.

About the Role

This is a senior, client-facing engagement leadership role responsible for driving account success, delivery quality, and commercial growth across Appvia's software and data solutions engagements.

You will own the relationship with one or more strategic accounts, leading engagements that solve real business problems through technology, from bespoke software delivery and systems integration to data platforms, analytics, and AI-powered products, and will ensure that Appvia becomes a trusted, long-term strategic partner.

This is a multi-faceted, post-sales role blending technical account leadership, delivery oversight, stakeholder engagement, and commercial ownership. You'll work closely with our CEO, Head of Cloud Solutions, Head of Data & AI, and Head of Software Engineering, ensuring clients see measurable business value from the solutions we build while identifying opportunities to deepen and expand the partnership. This role is also billable and will play a key part in shaping Appvia's future client engagement model and the evolution of a wider Client Solutions function.

Key Requirements

Client relationship & strategic account ownership

  • Act as the senior lead contact for the client account: establish, nurture and deepen relationships at executive and senior stakeholder level.
  • Understand the client's business drivers, problem space and digital ambitions (revenue growth, operational efficiency, customer experience, data-driven decision-making), and position Appvia's solutions capability accordingly.
  • Develop account growth plans: identify and prioritise new opportunities, coordinate with sales/pre-sales, define proposals, and support contract negotiations.
  • Monitor health of the account: satisfaction metrics, retention, adoption of delivered solutions, referenceability.

Engagement & delivery oversight

  • Oversee the portfolio of solution engagements within the account: ensure governance, appropriate resourcing, milestone adherence, risk/issue management, budget/margin tracking.
  • Provide technical oversight: ensure architectural integrity, alignment with best practices, quality of deliverables and alignment to client strategy.
  • Shape and validate solution designs with clients: translate business problems into well-scoped software and data solutions with clear success criteria.
  • Work with internal teams (engineering/architects, data engineering, consulting, service delivery) to ensure capability and capacity for the account.
  • Run customer workshops and discovery sessions to help clients define problems, prioritise use cases, and understand the journey, approach and expectations of adopting bespoke software, data platforms or AI solutions.
  • Act as an escalation point for major delivery issues, guiding resolution, and maintaining client confidence.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Growth & value realisation

  • Translate technical delivery into business outcomes: e.g., revenue uplift, process automation savings, faster time-to-insight, improved customer experience, better decision-making through data. Use metrics to track value delivered.
  • Develop and present value-case updates, account reviews and solution roadmap presentations to client leadership.
  • Identify new product/service offerings that match the client's next-phase needs (for example: AI accelerators, intelligent automation, data platform builds, analytics and ML products, application modernisation) and help position them.
  • Lead internal lessons-learned and continuous improvement: capture what works in the account, feed improvements back into Appvia's solutions offering.

Internal collaboration & leadership

  • Work cross-functionally: with sales/pre-sales, product teams, consulting/engineering, finance, and marketing/referrals to ensure the account's growth and delivery success.
  • Mentor more junior engagement/delivery leads within the account (or across accounts) to build a delivery organisation that scales.
  • Contribute to Appvia's thought leadership: participate in client workshops, speak at customer events, contribute case studies or white papers (optional but preferred).

About you

You are a senior consultancy leader with a strong technical grounding in software and data delivery, exceptional stakeholder presence, and proven experience developing and growing strategic technology accounts. You thrive in client-facing roles where you can influence outcomes, lead complex programmes and own the success of long-term partnerships. Comfortable in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment (Appvia is a scaling consultancy) and able to adapt to evolving client needs and service models.

  • A proactive, "get-things-done" mindset, able to take ownership of client outcomes and drive through ambiguity.
  • Strategic thinker with execution focus, able to map business problems to solution designs to delivery plans.
  • Customer-centric orientation: someone who prioritises client value, anticipates needs, and builds trust and long-term partnerships.
  • Technical curiosity and continuous learning, staying ahead of software engineering, data and AI/ML developments and how they translate into client value.
  • Collaborative style with the ability to work across internal teams, influence without direct authority, and build shared ownership.

Essential experience

  • 8+ years' experience in software or data consulting, technical delivery leadership, digital transformation or account ownership.
  • Strong understanding of the modern software delivery lifecycle: agile product delivery, solution architecture, APIs and integration, cloud-native application development, and quality engineering.
  • Solid grounding in data and AI solutions: data platforms and pipelines, analytics, machine learning and generative AI use cases, and the governance considerations around them.
  • Proven success managing large/complex enterprise accounts or portfolios in a consultancy/professional services environment.
  • Experience leading multi-stream technical engagements with accountability for delivery quality, forecasting, margin and commercial growth.
  • Confident communicating with leadership-level stakeholders, able to articulate technical concepts in business terms and influence decisions.
  • Skilled in building and executing account growth plans, identifying opportunities and supporting proposals or pre-sales activity.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, able to command a room, build trust quickly and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Experience taking software or data products from discovery through to production and adoption, including defining MVPs and iterating on outcomes.
