The Technical Account Manager (TAM) is an engineering role coordinating all aspects of technical support assigned to the program and is the primary communication channel with customers for technical topics during the development. Technical support will be managed throughout the full lifecycle from concept through factory introduction and mass production maintenance for EMEA customers. We are looking for a dynamic individual that is comfortable working with senior teams both internally and with customers.
The TAM closely tracks customer priorities and schedules and mobilizes the required expertise calling on HW/SW application engineers, R&D and Quality and Reliability engineering. The prime measure of success is the quality and responsiveness of the technical support delivered.
The TAM owns all customer technical issues across SW, HW, Systems, Quality, Performance & Test and Manufacturing and negotiates RCA plans and resolution timeframes with the customers project management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
OR
- Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
OR
- PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.

- 3+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
- 3+ years of experience with debugging techniques.
Responsibilities
- Solid technical knowledge of Qualcomm’s Chipset products, technologies and roadmap which include Snapdragon and Dragonwing Applications processors, Connectivity and Modem products.
- Negotiating, establishing and managing effective technical support activities & plans towards customers
- Tracking customer program schedules and priorities, risk management.
- Assessing complex technical issues arising from customer product developments
- Leading and coordinating engineering resources in resolving complex technical issues
- Building, maintaining and leveraging a network of engineering specialists within Qualcomm
- Organizing technical training, design reviews and engineering workshops on behalf of customers
- Hosting conference calls and web meetings
- Providing Technical support to business development
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Project or Program management within Mobile, Automotive or Telematics
- Technical understanding of wireless system, technologies and Interfaces.
- Technical understanding of Applications processors, Connectivity and Modem products.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team player with a successful track-record of working inside diverse global organizations
- Ability to simultaneously support multiple projects and to work across functions
- Leadership, communication and reporting skills
- Knowledge of wireless technologies LTE, UMTS (WCDMA/HSDPA/HSUPA and GSM/GPRS/EDGE), TDSCDMA and 5G
- Knowledge of various regulatory (GCF/PTCRB) and wireless carrier certification
- Advantageous would be recent experience in HW/SW product design, development and troubleshooting of advanced ARM based processor platforms with embedded Linux
