Technical Account Manager – Web Team
Location: Bristol (BS1 4HX)
You’ll play a key role in keeping website projects running smoothly for our university and college clients. Working closely with our web development team, you’ll quality check website builds, coordinate tasks and deadlines, support client communication and make sure projects stay organised and on track. This is a role with plenty of opportunity to develop, ideal for someone with a web design background who’s ready to move into a more client-facing, delivery-focused position.

What You’ll Do
- Quality check websites and pages against approved designs, spotting differences, errors and issues and providing clear feedback to developers.
- Review developers’ work before it reaches clients, checking layouts, content, links, images and functionality with a sharp eye for detail.
- Join client calls, take thorough notes and turn conversations into clear contact summaries, actions and next steps.
- Make content and page updates across CMS platforms including WordPress, Drupal and Squiz.
- Support the creation of clear and accurate scopes of work for new and existing client projects.
- Manage diaries, book meetings and help keep the web team organised and on schedule.
- Track tasks, deadlines and actions across multiple projects, following up with colleagues where needed to keep things moving.
- Prepare and manage web assets, ensuring the correct file formats are being used in the right places.
- Work closely with the Director of Technology and wider web team to support the smooth delivery of projects from brief through to completion.

Required Experience
- At least two years’ experience working in web design or a closely related role.
- Hands-on experience using WordPress or Drupal, with experience of Squiz an advantage.
- A good technical understanding of how websites work – you don’t need to be a developer or write code, but you should be comfortable working with web technology.
- A solid understanding of common file formats including JPEG, PNG, SVG, PDF and HTML, and an understanding of when and where to use them.
- Excellent written English, with the ability to produce clear notes, summaries, scopes and client-facing communications.
- A genuine eye for detail and the patience to thoroughly check work and spot things others might miss.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities at once.
- Confidence communicating with clients and representing the team on calls in a professional and approachable way.
- A proactive and reliable approach – you take ownership of tasks, follow things through and aren’t afraid to chase when something needs moving forward.
- A willingness to learn and develop, with the ambition to grow your technical, project delivery and account management skills.
