Technical Account Manager - Payments Orchestration

Location: 100% Remote (UK, US or Europe)

We're partnering with a rapidly growing payments technology business that is helping merchants optimise payment performance, improve checkout conversion and maximise payment acceptance through intelligent payment infrastructure. As the business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Technical Account Manager to join the customer-facing team. This is an opportunity to work with some of the most sophisticated merchants in eCommerce, supporting them throughout their journey from implementation through to ongoing optimisation. This role is ideal for someone already working within the payments ecosystem who enjoys combining technical expertise with customer relationship management.

The Role:

  • As Technical Account Manager, you will become a trusted technical adviser to our customers, ensuring they achieve maximum value from the platform while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  • Working closely with Product, Engineering and Customer Success teams, you will manage customer implementations, support technical integrations, resolve complex issues and identify opportunities to improve payment performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary technical contact for a portfolio of customers.
  • Manage the customer lifecycle from implementation and onboarding through to ongoing technical account management.
  • Guide merchants through API integrations and technical onboarding, ensuring successful deployment of the platform.
  • Build strong relationships with technical, commercial and operational stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance around payment routing, payment optimisation, checkout performance and platform capabilities.
  • Investigate and coordinate the resolution of technical issues, working closely with Engineering and Product teams.
  • Monitor customer performance and proactively recommend improvements to maximise payment success rates and overall platform adoption.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes for customers.
  • Capture customer feedback and collaborate internally to influence future product development.
  • Identify opportunities to expand platform usage and introduce additional functionality where appropriate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
