Job Title: Technical Accountant

Location: Cambridge (hybrid)

Employment Type: full-time

The Job

The Technical Accountant role supports the Group Reporting - Technical Team on ensuring the correct reporting of transactions.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Technical Accountant in the Group Reporting - Technical Team, your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Supporting the production of the year-end financial statements;
  • Supporting the external audit process, interacting with the audit team and providing relevant documentation;
  • Assistance with the accuracy, completeness and documentation of fixed and variable consolidation adjustments;
  • Data analysis for the calculation of consolidation adjustments;
  • Assisting with calculating the required accounting adjustments for acquisitions, divestments and other transactions across the group;
  • Assisting in documenting policies for the maintenance of the Group accounting manual; and
  • Ad-hoc support with technical accounting and reporting issues. All of these responsibilities will be performed in a SOX control environment.

Skills & Qualifications

Ideal Skills

  • Qualified accountant with experience of financial reporting and consolidations
  • Building relationships quickly/interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience working within a SOX environment is desirable
  • Organised and able to balance conflicting priorities
  • Capable of managing time and meeting deadlines
  • Collaborative, with good communications skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Confident, motivated self-starter
  • Able to comply with documented processes and procedures

Hybrid Working

We work in a hybrid way at AVEVA. Most roles are based at a local AVEVA office, with an expectation of being on-site 50% of your working hours to support collaboration and connection. Some positions are fully office-based depending on the nature of the work, and certain roles that support specific customers or markets may be remote. The working arrangement for this position will be confirmed during the hiring process.
