Technical Accounting Manager Bedfordshire (Hybrid)
My client is seeking a technically strong ACA to join its finance team in a newly created role. This is an excellent opportunity to become the technical accounting lead within a growing organisation, partnering with senior stakeholders on complex accounting matters while helping shape the finance function.
Working alongside an experienced leadership team, you'll provide technical accounting expertise across the business, influence key financial reporting decisions and play a leading role in developing accounting policies and reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical accounting lead, providing guidance on IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Lead the accounting treatment of complex and non-routine transactions, preparing technical accounting papers and supporting key accounting judgements.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, ensuring compliance and best practice.
- Assess and implement new accounting standards, supporting ongoing improvements to the financial reporting framework.
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end reporting.
- Act as the key technical contact for external auditors.
- Strengthen financial controls, governance and accounting processes.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across finance and the wider business on strategic initiatives and technical accounting matters.

About You
- Qualified ACA, ideally trained within a Top 6 practice (minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience applying IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Experience preparing technical accounting papers and supporting complex accounting issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Commercially minded, analytical and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset.
