Technical Accounting Manager

London | Hybrid (2 Days in the Office per week)
£75,000 - £85,000 + Bonus

A leading FTSE 100 organisation is seeking a talented Technical Accounting Manager to join its high-performing Group Finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong qualified accountant to play a key role in technical accounting, external reporting, group consolidation, and financial governance within a large and complex international business.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across the Group, you will provide expert IFRS guidance on complex transactions and business initiatives, while contributing to the production of key external reporting outputs including the Half-Year Results and Annual Report.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical accounting papers and support accounting conclusions on complex transactions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the business, providing expert IFRS guidance.
  • Liaise with external auditors and support the year-end and interim reporting processes.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards and ongoing accounting policy development.
  • Prepare and review disclosures for half-year and year-end reporting.
  • Operate and maintain key SOX controls, ensuring robust documentation and control evidence.
  • Support the monthly group consolidation process, including consolidation and elimination journals.
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts for head office entities.

About You

We're looking for a qualified accountant with a strong technical accounting background and a passion for financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Trained within a Big 4 or top 10 practice.
  • Industry experience within Technical Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Group Reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience analysing and resolving complex accounting issues.
  • Previous exposure to listed company reporting environments is highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to explain complex accounting concepts clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
