Technical Accounting Manager
Group Finance | Statutory Reporting | IFRS | Plc Environment
London Based
Fixed term Contract to July 2027
Salary: up to £75k
Are you an ACA or ACCA-qualified accountant looking to take the next step in your career within a complex Group Finance environment?
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a significant statutory reporting programme, applying your technical accounting expertise across a diverse group of entities while gaining valuable exposure to Plc reporting, external audit and the wider Group Finance function.
As Technical Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the Group’s 2026 year-end, overseeing the preparation of their statutory accounts, including around 50 entities subject to external audit. With a filing deadline of 30 June 2027, you will coordinate the process from preparation and review through to audit completion, ensuring every account is accurate, compliant and delivered to a high standard.
The role offers a strong blend of technical accounting, financial reporting and stakeholder engagement, making it particularly well suited to an accountant moving out of practice or taking their first post-qualified move within industry.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Head of Group Reporting and colleagues across Group Finance, you will help ensure the Group meets its statutory reporting obligations while supporting the production of the Plc Annual Report and Accounts.
You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of IFRS in a practical, commercially relevant environment, work directly with external auditors and collaborate with tax, operational and wider business teams.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys technical accounting, takes pride in the quality of their work and can bring structure and clarity to a demanding reporting timetable.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
