Key Responsibilities

  • New Schemes Accounting: Lead the accounting treatment and reporting implications of new schemes, engaging with National Audit Office (NAO), Financial advisors, DESNZ (and other government Departments) and ARAC.
  • New schemes & Regulation: Represent Finance in the development and implementation of new schemes, ensuring regulatory and contractual requirements are translated into appropriate accounting treatments, accounting policies and financial reporting considerations.

Work with the Finance Settlements Manager, Finance Schemes & Reporting Partner and Analytics team to ensure robust, auditable valuations that support disclosures and audit requirements.
  • Government Submissions: Share responsibility with the Finance Schemes & Reporting Partner and the wider finance team for submissions connected to year end (counterparty, non-TB etc.).
  • Work closely with DESNZ and manage their reporting requirements, including Annual Report disclosures and accounting papers.
  • Team support: Update the Finance team on IFRS changes and support technical accounting queries from operational teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
