Job Introduction

The Highway Delivery Unit is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the highway network within the City of Bradford MDC together with Winter Maintenance operations.

We are looking for a Technical Administrative Support Officer to join our team. The position is based at Wakefield Road Depot, Bradford.

The main purpose of the role:

  • Input vehicle crossover (Section 184) applications in the council’s internal system (Confirm)
  • Input EV charging channel applications in the council’s internal system (Confirm)
  • Communicate with members of the public to discuss application statuses and provide updates via phone and email.
  • Generate and send invoices to customers using SAP, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Maintain records of transactions and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Submit applications for permits to work on the highway, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Track and manage the status of permits and report any issues to the Principal Engineer (HDU – Highway Delivery Unit)
  • Perform general clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and document preparation
  • Assist Principal Engineer and Assistant Manager (HDU) with administrative tasks, including tracking sickness and recruitment processes.
  • Organise and maintain electronic and physical files for easy access and reference.
