This role is part time- 3 days a week

Your Responsibilities

  • Arrange transport requests for both cars and components to all parts of the globe and the UK, relative to project deadlines
  • Arrange return of components to suppliers after test completion to appropriate timescales, ensuring records of components are maintained
  • Deal with Customs to facilitate transport requests
  • Maintain the Powertrain stores excel database for components to accurately reflect the stores content and availability of components
  • Monitor the stores database to keep costs down – carry out audits of stock and remove shelf-life expired items
  • Arrange for return of components from storage to required area of use to timescale
  • Create storage request for new and used components as required
  • Liaise with all parts of the logistics process both on site and externally to ensure smooth completion of transactions
  • Assist engineering workshop staff where necessary to aid project completion for Powertrain
  • Work with colleagues in the Powertrain and wider Test and development teams to aid project advancement
  • Create component change fixing kits, maintaining a kit content database and record of kit availability
  • Assist Powertrain manager whenever necessary on request, this will involve contact with other departments
  • Attend meetings when required, both via Teams and in-person when necessary
  • Use of the internal Workflow system to create reservations of components for department use where required
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers where necessary, for both calibration of equipment and procurement of components
  • Arrange for purchase orders to be completed for required purchase transactions
  • Assist with loading and receipt of cars and components on site when necessary
  • Liaise with the Quality department when necessary, during component investigations
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties that may be required to assist processes

  • Experience in technical administration, preferably within the automotive industry
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications
