With over 1,000 employees and a £150m turnover, we’re growing—and now looking for a Technical Administrator to play a key role in our project delivery teams.
The Role
The Technical Administrator provides essential administrative and coordination support to engineering, technical, and project teams across multiple water and energy projects. The role ensures technical information, documentation, and processes are organised, up to date, and compliant, enabling efficient project delivery in a regulated infrastructure environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Technical & Engineering Support
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to engineering and technical teams across multiple projects.
- Assist engineers and technical leads with the preparation, formatting, and issue of technical documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Maintain records of technical deliverables, approvals, and actions.
Documentation & Information Management
- Support document control activities, including document registers, transmittals, and tracking of revisions.
- Ensure technical documents are correctly filed, version-controlled, and accessible in document management systems.
- Liaise with Document Controllers to ensure alignment with document control procedures.
Coordination & Communication
- Act as a point of contact for technical information requests within the project team.
- Support communication between design teams, project teams, site teams, and external stakeholders.
- Attend weekly Document Control Team meetings.
Project & Compliance Support
- Assist with tracking technical deliverables against project programmes and milestones.
- Support compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Assist with preparation for audits, inspections, and client reviews.

General Administration
- Maintain trackers, logs, and schedules related to technical activities.
- Support onboarding of new team members with systems, processes, and documentation.
- Provide general administrative support to the project or engineering function as required.

What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Experience in an administrative, technical support, or project support role within engineering, construction, or infrastructure environments.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems.
- Attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to work.
Desirable
- NVQ, HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Engineering Support, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience in water and/or energy sector projects.
- Familiarity with document control processes and EDMS platforms (e.g. Aconex, Viewpoint, Asite, SharePoint).
- Basic understanding of engineering or technical documentation.
- Experience supporting multi-site projects or framework contracts.
