Technical Administrator

Location: Malton

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00

Salary: £27,000

Pro-Pak Foods is a major supplier of delicious ready meals to many of the UK’s leading supermarkets and convenience stores. Our chefs work with our customers and have created a menu of more than 200 quality meals.

Are you highly organised, detail-focused and looking to build a career in food manufacturing or quality assurance?

We're looking for a Technical Administrator to join our Technical team in Malton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys working with data, documentation and processes. Previous experience in a food manufacturing technical department is helpful but not essential—we're looking for someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in developing their career.

Working alongside an experienced team, you'll receive support and training to develop your knowledge of food safety, quality systems and technical administration.

What you'll be doing

As part of our Technical team, you'll help ensure our systems, records and documentation are accurate, up to date and audit-ready. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and updating the site's Food Safety & Quality Manual.
  • Supporting the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, specifications and procedures.
  • Assisting with internal and external audits by gathering and retrieving information.
  • Completing traceability exercises and supplier trace requests.
  • Supporting mass balance exercises and departmental reporting.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and producing reports for site and senior management.
  • Investigating and responding to customer complaints, working alongside the QA Manager to identify corrective actions.
  • Supporting product specification management across internal and customer systems.
  • Maintaining supplier approval records and technical databases.
  • Completing customer and site questionnaires (SAQs and QAS).
  • Keeping technical schedules and compliance records up to date.
  • Assisting with export documentation when required.
  • Supporting technical improvement projects across the business.
  • Inputting data into Sage X3 when required.
  • Providing administrative support across the Technical team during periods of absence.
  • Promoting a safe working environment and following all health, safety and environmental procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
