Role Overview
As a Technical Advanced Operator, you'll play a vital role in maintaining food safety, quality, and operational standards across the site. Working closely with Production and Technical teams, you'll help ensure products meet customer, company, and legal requirements while supporting a culture of continuous improvement, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Duties
- Prepare production areas and equipment to ensure they meet required food safety, hygiene, quality, and performance standards.
- Verify that products, raw materials, and ingredients comply with customer specifications, legal requirements, and internal standards.
- Monitor and calibrate weighing and temperature monitoring equipment, escalating issues promptly when identified.
- Check product labels and packaging information to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Carry out routine quality, food safety, hygiene, and process audits in line with site procedures.
- Collect samples for laboratory testing and ensure quality documentation is completed accurately.
- Investigate non-conformances, support root cause analysis, and contribute to effective corrective actions.
- Support production teams with process controls, record completion, and adherence to food safety procedures.
- Conduct process control checks at defined intervals to ensure ongoing compliance with specifications.
- Promote a positive food safety and quality culture and encourage a right-first-time approach across the operation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, waste reduction, and operational performance.
- Contribute to maintaining audit-ready standards and supporting successful customer, insurance, and compliance audits.
- Coach and support colleagues on food safety, hygiene, quality, and safe working practices.

Ideal Candidate
- Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent.
- Experience within a food manufacturing, quality assurance, technical, or compliance environment.
- Previous quality auditing experience.
- Knowledge of food safety systems, GMP, hygiene standards, and quality assurance processes.
- Experience working within chilled, frozen, or food production environments would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve issues.
- Confident prioritising workloads and managing multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Able to build positive working relationships and influence high standards across teams.
- Competent using Microsoft Office and electronic recording systems.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills with a focus on accuracy.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach, with a commitment to setting standards and leading by example.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to coach and support colleagues.
