Client: IT Managed Service Provider

Position: Technical Security Analyst

Location: London (City)

Salary: £30,000–£32,000 + Benefits

The role:

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Security Analyst who is comfortable working across both cybersecurity remediation and day-to-day IT support. The role is suited to someone who understands vulnerabilities and risk, but also has the practical technical ability to investigate issues, make changes safely and support users and client environments.

This is not a traditional SOC monitoring role. The emphasis is on taking security findings and turning them into practical action: understanding what the issue means, identifying what is affected, implementing appropriate remediation, validating the result and documenting the outcome.

Key responsibilities:

  • Investigate vulnerability findings and security issues to understand affected systems, likely impact and appropriate remediation.
  • Interpret CVEs, CVSS scores and vulnerability information, considering exploitability and the client environment rather than relying on severity scores alone.
  • Remediate issues such as missing patches, insecure configurations, exposed services, endpoint weaknesses and identity or access-control gaps.
  • Implement and validate agreed security improvements across endpoints, cloud services, identity platforms and network environments.
  • Work with senior technical and security colleagues where remediation introduces material risk, business impact or requires wider architectural decisions.
  • Capture clear evidence of remediation, maintain accurate technical records and ensure findings are properly closed or escalated.
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support, resolving user, endpoint, identity, connectivity, application and general technical issues.
  • Support technical projects including deployments, migrations, endpoint configuration, hardening and security improvement work.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues and clients, translating technical findings into practical actions where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Capabilities we are looking for:

  • A good practical understanding of vulnerability management, including CVEs, CVSS scoring, severity, exploitability and mitigation.
  • The ability to assess a vulnerability in context and determine what needs to be investigated or remediated, rather than simply repeating a scanner result.
  • Hands-on experience providing IT support in business environments, with strong troubleshooting fundamentals.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365, identity and access management, endpoint management and networking fundamentals.
  • An understanding of patching, endpoint security, system hardening, access controls and common security misconfigurations.
  • The confidence to investigate technical problems methodically, implement changes safely, test the outcome and document what was done.
  • Good judgement about when an issue can be handled independently and when it should be escalated.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, good ticket discipline and a professional client-service mindset.
  • A practical, curious approach: someone who wants to understand why something is vulnerable and then help fix it.

Useful additional experience:

  • Experience working with vulnerability scanning or vulnerability-management platforms.
  • Exposure to endpoint detection and response, endpoint protection or managed security services.
  • Experience with device management, cloud identity, firewall or network administration.
  • Apple/macOS support or device-management experience.
  • Experience working in environments aligned to Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus or other security assurance frameworks.
  • Basic scripting or automation skills used for administration, investigation or remediation.

The person:

You do not need to be a penetration tester or a career SOC analyst. We are looking for someone with solid IT foundations who has developed genuine security awareness and wants security remediation to be a meaningful part of their day-to-day role.

You should be equally comfortable investigating why a vulnerability exists, applying an appropriate fix, and then helping a user with a conventional IT problem. Practical capability, judgement and willingness to learn matter more to us than collecting qualifications.

What good looks like:

  • Security findings are converted into timely, safe and evidenced remediation.
  • Vulnerabilities are understood in context rather than treated as numbers on a report.
  • Routine security and IT support work is handled confidently, with appropriate escalation when risk or complexity demands it.
  • Clients receive dependable technical support while their security posture is continuously improved.
  • You become a trusted technical member of the team who can move naturally between vulnerability remediation, security improvement, IT support and project work.
