Role Description
The Technical and Design Specialist (Insulation and Flat Roofing) is a full-time, on-site role based in Ely. In this position, the specialist will:

- Prepare technical drawings and CAD designs for insulation and flat roofing systems, ensuring solutions meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support to internal teams and external clients.
- Interpret project specifications and advise on suitable BMI roofing products and systems.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and installation teams.
- Produce detailed design documentation.
- Review plans to optimize thermal performance, waterproofing, and constructability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards.
- Assist with technical training materials.
- Help maintain accurate technical records and product data.

Qualifications
- Strong Technical Drawing and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills relevant to insulation and flat roofing solutions.
- Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering knowledge applicable to building services and roofing system integration.
- Effective Communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and advising clients and partners.
- Understanding of building physics, insulation performance, and waterproofing principles.
- Relevant technical qualification or degree in engineering, architecture, construction, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- Experience in roofing, building envelope design, or construction detailing is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to interpret technical standards, and proficiency with common design and office software are advantageous.
