About the Technical & NPD Manager job
Reporting into the senior management team, you will be responsible for maintaining and driving high BRCGS standards and systems throughout the site, continuously reviewing and improving existing procedures. In addition, you will also head up the NPD function being responsible for developing innovative products that meet customer briefs, consumer trends and commercial objectives.
Key tasks
- Ensure full compliance with food safety legislation and certification standards (BRCGS, Soil).
- Ensure HACCP, food defence and prerequisite programmes are maintained and followed.
- Lead and implement the company’s food safety and quality culture plan.
- Ensure all products are manufactured to agreed finished product specification.
- Investigate to the source of justified complaints and implement corrective actions as necessary to prevent reoccurrence.
- Develop innovative products from concept to launch, creating and refining recipes while ensuring quality, customer and commercial requirements are met.
- Working closely with Production, lead projects through trial and launch stages, ensuring products are scalable, cost-effective and deliver outstanding results in manufacture.
- Drive innovation by monitoring market trends, reviewing existing products and identifying opportunities to develop new concepts that support business growth and customer success.

About you
With previous good experience of food manufacturing, you should also be a self-motivated, confident and an experienced technical individual with great communication and people skills. You should have:
- Established technical and food safety knowledge.
- Expert knowledge of Food Safety, Quality Management, Regulatory Requirements and Risk Management.
- Good Experience of BRCGS standards and systems of the latest version.
- HACCP level 3 certificate, Food Hygiene certificate and NEBOSH / IOSH Qualification.
- Proven experience developing products from concept through to commercial launch.
- Sound understanding of shelf life, product stability, ingredient functionality, texture and flavour development.
- Excellent project management skills as well as commercial awareness.

The Technical & NPD Manager job (ref 9111) is based in Leicestershire and is paying £55,000 - £65,000 according to your experience. The working hours are Monday to Friday.
