Lead Business AI Architect
Location: UK – Remote Employment Type: Permanent
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Lead Business AI Architect to design and shape AI-powered business solutions across the Microsoft ecosystem.
This role will sit at the intersection of business requirements, solution architecture, and AI delivery, working closely with internal stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into scalable solutions using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Foundry.
You will act as a senior technical authority for business AI solutions, defining solution designs, architecture patterns, and technical standards while supporting engineering teams through implementation.
Compared with a hands-on engineering role, this position will have a greater focus on solution design, stakeholder engagement, architecture governance, and technical direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and solution design of AI-powered business solutions across Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Microsoft Foundry.
- Engage directly with internal business teams to understand requirements, pain points, and opportunities for AI and automation.
- Translate business requirements into clear technical architectures, solution designs, and delivery roadmaps.
- Run discovery and design workshops with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and technical teams.
- Define high-level and detailed solution designs for Copilot, AI agent, workflow automation, and business application use cases.
- Design integration approaches across Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure, and wider enterprise systems.
- Establish reusable architecture patterns, standards, and best practices for AI and automation solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to AI Engineers throughout solution delivery.
- Review engineering designs and implementations to ensure alignment with agreed architecture and quality standards.
- Ensure solutions meet requirements around security, compliance, data governance, and responsible AI.
- Advise stakeholders on the suitability, limitations, and trade-offs of different Microsoft AI technologies.
- Support prioritization and feasibility assessment of new AI use cases across the organization.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, security teams, and technology leadership to ensure solutions align with the wider technology strategy.
- Help shape the organization's longer-term approach to Microsoft AI and intelligent automation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
