Technical Architect | Azure, Data & AI | Public Sector
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Architect to support a major public sector transformation programme during an initial Discovery phase.
This is not a role where the technology solution has already been decided. You’ll work with the customer to understand their current technical and data landscape, assess options, and recommend the most appropriate future architecture.
The programme has a strong data focus, so we’re particularly interested in Technical Architects with extensive experience across Azure, modern data platforms, and AI-enabled solutions.
What you’ll be doing
- Assessing current systems, services, integrations and architecture
- Understanding how data moves across a complex technology estate
- Leading technical options assessments across multiple use cases
- Defining and evaluating potential future-state architectures
- Assessing different technology approaches, including AI-enabled options
- Producing clear architectural recommendations and the rationale behind them
- Working closely with Data Architecture, Service Design, BA and Delivery colleagues
- Providing independent technical advice rather than implementing a predetermined solution

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
