Role: Technical Architect / Architectural Technologist
Contract Length: 4 months (Likely to be extended or go Perm)
Rate: £25-£34 per hour
Location: Midlands
Flexible: 2/3 days required on-site
Start Date: ASAP
The Role
As the dedicated Technical Architect / Architectural Technologist on site, you will act as the key technical point of contact between the design team and contractors, ensuring the smooth delivery of the project through the construction phase.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and responding to contractor technical queries.
- Coordinating architectural information on a live construction site.
- Reviewing and resolving issues relating to floors, walls, doors, windows, and other building elements.
- Working closely with the contractor team to ensure design intent is maintained.
- Making informed technical decisions to keep the project moving forward.
- Reviewing and interpreting large volumes of technical drawings and documentation.
- Supporting project delivery through effective communication with the wider design team.
- Utilising Revit and technical detailing expertise to resolve site issues.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Qualified Architect or Architectural Technologist.
- Proven experience working on live construction projects.
- Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge.
- Excellent understanding of building systems, materials, and construction processes.
- Advanced Revit proficiency.
- Experience responding to RFIs, site queries, and contractor requests.
- Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate technical drawing packages.
- Strong communication skills with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and make technical decisions on-site.
- Full UK driving licence or ability to travel regularly to site

Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working on Ministry of Justice, custodial, defence, or secure-sector projects.
- Current security clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance.
- Experience working alongside tier-one contractor.
- Knowledge of construction phase project delivery within RIBA Stages 4-6.
- Experience with site inspections and quality assurance processes.
- Familiarity with complex public-sector projects.
