Are you an Azure specialist who enjoys shaping cloud platforms rather than simply working within them?
Want the opportunity to influence architecture, standards and automation across a large-scale technology environment?
Looking for a role where you can stay hands-on while helping engineering teams build securely, consistently and at pace?
Our client is looking for a Technical Architect – Azure to join an established Cloud Engineering & Architecture function. This is a platform-focused architecture role where you’ll help shape, operate and continuously improve a large-scale Azure environment, combining strategic architectural thinking with genuine technical depth.
Why This Role is Great
- You’ll have the opportunity to take real ownership of the Azure platform and help define how cloud services are designed, delivered and operated.
- You’ll get to:
- Shape and evolve Azure cloud architecture, including Landing Zones, networking, identity, security, governance and observability.
- Design reusable platform components, reference architectures and standard patterns that make life easier for engineering and delivery teams.
- Build and improve Infrastructure as Code, with a particular focus on Bicep.
- Develop platform-level CI/CD templates, automation and guardrails that allow teams to move quickly without compromising security or compliance.
- Identify opportunities for self-service cloud capabilities, reducing repetitive engineering work and improving developer experience.
- Influence the reliability, scalability, security and cost efficiency of cloud-hosted workloads.
- Work closely with Cloud Engineers, DevOps, Security and Delivery teams, giving you plenty of scope to influence technical direction across the organisation.
- Review emerging Azure services and decide where new capabilities can add meaningful value.
- Stay close to the technology by supporting and improving a live production cloud platform, rather than operating solely at a conceptual architecture level.
- Create architectural decision records, diagrams, design documentation and onboarding guidance that help turn good architecture into repeatable practice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
