About The Role

Our client, a consultancy supporting an NHS client, is seeking an experienced Technical Architect to join a major Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme and provide independent technical leadership and assurance across the programme's end-to-end architecture.

This is a key role within the programme, responsible for establishing a clear, deliverable, and assured technical architecture across integration, infrastructure, security, testing, and data.

The successful candidate will provide constructive challenge to suppliers and internal delivery teams, identify technical risks and dependencies early, and ensure that architectural decisions support both successful EPR implementation and the organisation's longer-term digital and technology strategy.

You will operate at the intersection of programme delivery, clinical systems, technology, suppliers, and organizational strategy, translating complex technical requirements into practical and deliverable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Architecture

  • Develop and maintain the end-to-end technical architecture for the EPR programme.
  • Define target architecture across applications, integration, infrastructure, security, data, environments, and operational services.
  • Establish architectural principles, standards, patterns, assumptions, and constraints.
  • Ensure technical architecture is scalable, resilient, secure, supportable, and future-proof.
  • Maintain architecture decisions and ensure they are appropriately governed.

Integration and Interoperability

  • Define the EPR integration architecture and strategy across clinical, corporate, and external systems.
  • Rationalize existing and proposed interfaces, identifying duplication, unnecessary complexity, and opportunities for simplification.
  • Map technical dependencies, interfaces, and end-to-end data flows.
  • Provide technical leadership on interoperability using appropriate standards and technologies, including HL7, FHIR, APIs, and messaging.
  • Identify integration risks and dependencies early and ensure they are reflected in programme planning.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
