About the Role
This is a fantastic Technical Architect opportunity to work with a UK-based technology services organisation, shaping and delivering secure, resilient, and scalable technology architectures across cloud, infrastructure, and applications.
The Technical Architect is a remote working role, based in the UK. Travel to customer sites and team meetings is expected, as necessary.
Candidates with current UK SC Clearance are strongly preferred, although candidates who are eligible and willing to undergo the SC Clearance process may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
As a Technical Architect, you will provide senior architectural leadership across a range of customer and transformation initiatives, designing and guiding secure, resilient, and scalable technology solutions. You will assess existing technology landscapes, define high- and low-level architecture designs, and shape practical approaches to cloud adoption, infrastructure modernisation, application modernisation, resilience, and technical debt reduction. The role will span multi-cloud, hybrid infrastructure, and application environments, with strong exposure to Microsoft Azure, AWS, etc. You will work across infrastructure and application domains, ensuring solutions are designed with security, scalability, operational readiness, and long-term business value in mind. Security will form an important part of the architectural remit, with an emphasis on Secure by Design, the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF), Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+), security principles, governance, and risk-aware architecture. This is not a dedicated Security Architect role, but you will need a strong understanding of how security considerations influence modern technology architecture. You will collaborate closely with customers, programme leadership, engineers, and delivery teams to define technical solutions, produce architecture deliverables, and guide successful implementation. To succeed as a Technical Architect, you will need broad experience across cloud and infrastructure architecture, strong multi-cloud capability, and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
