We're looking for an experienced Technical Architect to support a major digital transformation programme.
The Opportunity
We're seeking a dedicated Technical Architect to review the Engineering Standards and Blueprint Standards, identify gaps and areas of divergence, and work with stakeholders to establish greater alignment.
The role will combine architecture analysis, governance, stakeholder engagement and technical authoring, helping to improve consistency across standards and support a coherent and sustainable technology landscape.

What You'll Be Doing
Architecture & Standards
- Analyse findings from the Engineering Standards and Blueprint Standards sites.
- Identify, document and prioritise architecture and governance gaps.
- Review and assess areas of divergence between engineering standards and Blueprint artefacts.
- Assess the business and technical impact of identified differences.
- Develop recommendations and roadmap actions to address identified gaps.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Conduct stakeholder analysis and engage with technical and business stakeholders.
- Facilitate discussions to understand the rationale and impact of existing standards.
- Support stakeholders in reconciling differences and reaching alignment.
- Communicate complex technical issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Technical Authoring
- Provide technical authoring and documentation support where required.
- Produce clear architecture documentation, findings and recommendations.
- Support the development and refinement of standards and Blueprint artefacts.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong commercial experience as a Technical Architect, Solution Architect, Lead Architect or equivalent.
- Experience working at SFIA Level 6 or equivalent seniority.
- Strong experience in architecture governance, technical standards and architectural assurance.
- Proven ability to identify and analyse architecture and governance gaps.
- Experience reviewing and reconciling technical standards and architecture artefacts.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing skills.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
- Experience producing architecture recommendations, technical papers and roadmaps.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- UK Government / public sector experience.
- Experience working with Engineering Standards and Technology Blueprints.
- Experience supporting complex digital transformation programmes.
- Consultancy experience.
