Role: Technical Architect
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location. Indicative range: $140,000 – $220,000 (USD equivalent), plus benefits.
Role Overview
We are hiring a Technical Architect to define the architectures that the engineering organisation builds on. The role combines deep system design expertise with cross-team influence — shaping how systems fit together over the long arc.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve target architecture across major platform areas
- Lead architecture reviews and technical decision processes
- Partner with engineering teams on system design and integration patterns
- Author architecture decision records, RFCs, and technical strategy documents
- Mentor senior engineers and codify architectural principles
- Evaluate emerging technologies and shape build-vs-buy decisions

Required Skills and Qualifications
- 8+ years in software engineering, with significant architecture experience
- Deep expertise in distributed systems and cloud-native architectures
- Track record of designing systems that scaled to significant load
- Excellent written communication, including RFCs and technical strategy
- Experience influencing across teams without direct authority
- Strong mentorship and consultative leadership style
