Job Description

Technical Architect
Rate: £630 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: 1 day per month on site across Telford, Birmingham, Manchester, or London
Duration: 6 month contract
Clearance: BPSS (or eligibility to obtain)

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Architect to shape robust, scalable software solutions.

In this role, you will act as the single point of contact for technical and software architecture decisions. You'll balance immediate delivery needs with long term technical and business strategy, ensuring software compatibility, scalability, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecture and Strategy: Define and build software solutions considering maturity, integrity, scale, and maintainability, aligning with broader technical and business strategies.
  • Component Design: Articulate multi view architectural designs and define clear interaction mechanisms between software components.
  • Development Support: Guide, mentor, and support the development team throughout construction, ensuring architectural integrity and consistency across documentation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Relay key architectural messages to managers, developers, and fellow architects, advocating for design best practices.
  • Agile Leadership: Assist in building effective, high performing development teams while fostering an environment of continuous learning and hands on problem solving.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Strong background in core technical stack: Java, AWS, Microservices, and REST APIs.
  • Hands on experience with Containerisation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and MongoDB.
  • Proven track record in an Agile delivery environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A curious, creative problem solver willing to get hands on when necessary.
