About The Role:
Working Pattern
Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
To support the Head of Operational Asset Management in the development and delivery of long-term client and organisational asset management strategies across OCS. The Technical Asset Manager will provide technical leadership and assurance to new and embedded account teams, ensuring asset management decisions are informed by engineering best practice, asset performance, statutory compliance and risk and lifecycle considerations.
The role is responsible for improving the technical understanding of managed assets, capturing and deploying best practice, supporting mobilisations and driving consistent asset management standards across OCS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical reviews of asset portfolios to understand condition, performance, risk and remaining life.
- Develop and implement asset management strategies aligned to ISO 55001 principles.
- Lead asset verification surveys, asset data improvement programmes and CAFM/CMMS uploads.
- Provide technical governance and assurance for lifecycle and capital replacement plans.
- Support and inform risk-based, reliability-centred and condition-based maintenance methodologies.
- Undertake asset performance reviews as required to identify recurring failures and optimisation opportunities.
- Undertake on-site and remote technical audits across OCS accounts and support corrective action plans.
- Support mobilisation, transition and transformation activities for new and existing customers.
- Report compliance against statutory inspection and maintenance obligations as defined in SFG20, ISO/BS and industry best practice.
- Drive continuous improvement in asset data quality and reporting standards.
- Support engineering teams with technical advice, coaching and asset management best practice.
- Collaborate with digital and IT teams to improve asset intelligence, reporting and analytics.
- Benchmark asset performance and maintenance effectiveness across portfolios.
- Support development of sustainability, resilience and energy-efficiency initiatives.

Personal Specification:
Essential
- Demonstrable experience in technical asset management and facilities management operations.
- Strong knowledge of building services engineering assets and associated statutory compliance.
- Experience with CAFM, CMMS and asset information systems.
- Knowledge of ISO 55001, SFG20 and maintenance best practice methodologies.
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in an engineering or building services discipline.
- Ability to interpret technical surveys, condition assessments and lifecycle models.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and analytical skills.
- Advanced Microsoft 365 skills including data analysis and reporting.
- Experience producing lifecycle investment plans and technical business cases.
Desirable
- Degree in Engineering, Building Services, Asset Management or related discipline.
- Institute of Asset Management Certificate, Diploma or equivalent professional qualification.
- Professional membership of IAM, IET, CIBSE or similar body.
- Experience of BIM, IoT, predictive maintenance and digital asset technologies.
- Ability to analyse and manipulate large asset datasets using reporting, database and analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python or equivalent.
