The team

ProVision are one of the UK’s leading equipment hire companies, providing Lighting, Cameras, Grips and Sound to the Television and Film industry. Wholly owned by ITV and with bases in Leeds, London and Manchester we are looking to recruit a Technical Assistant to support us in providing a high standard of service to our ProVision clients.

The role

The preparation, first line maintenance and stock control of all technical equipment, focusing at all times on providing a high standard of service to all ProVision clients. You will provide a complete technical solution, from day to day running of hire equipment to the preparation of daily additional extras, delivered to the highest of standards at all time as well as delivering ProVision’s vast array of external Drama and Factual productions.

  • To have an excellent theoretical and working knowledge of video, audio and grip equipment with the ability to offer technical advice and solutions. This must be evidenced in your CV.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff and management, verbally or in writing (emails).
  • Good computer skills with the ability to use google mail, google docs and google sheets.
  • This role involves driving to various locations in a manual vehicle to collect and deliver equipment therefore a full manual driver’s licence is essential. You will be required to drive the ProVision fleet of vans and rental vans, and we cannot guarantee automatic vehicles, therefore we require a full, manual driver’s licence.
  • This role will involve lifting and carrying large lighting, camera sound and grip equipment.
  • Potential short notice call out to support production requirements.
  • Experience working in a customer focused environment. This must be evidenced in your CV.
  • An interest in the TV Industry.
  • Preferably previous experience in equipment rental.
  • Experience working with visual or audio equipment. This must be evidenced in your CV.

  • Adaptable to dealing with a range of tasks across all departments.
  • Consistent and professional approach to meet the needs of the customer.
  • Willingness and ability to be a self-starter and use your own initiative.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised when necessary.
  • Willingness to be qualified in PAT testing in order to identify the requirements needed.
