Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting for 2 MEP Technical Assurance Engineers to join our Completions & Transitions team here at SCS Railways.

About The Role

The Technical Assurance (TA) team are responsible for capturing, developing and demonstrating compliance to Stakeholder requirements, facilitating configuration and technical change management, and managing technical assurance activities to achieve self-assured delivery of the project.

The Mechanical Electrical Public Health (MEP) TA Engineer will be responsible for leading on the TA delivery of their disciplines and reporting this to MEP Technical Assurance Manager. You will work closely with the MEP Delivery Team, MEP Subcontractors, Planners, Requirements Manager and key technical leads within the project team to define work package requirement sets, along with planning the appropriate verification & validation methods to demonstrate compliance. You will support further activities of the assurance team relating to Technical Assurance, Configuration and Technical Change Management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure that TA requirements are at the forefront of any planning and delivery for Installation or Testing & Commissioning activities by ensuring that the TA timeline is fully understood and maintained.
  • Support MEP Delivery and subcontractor teams in the preparation and review of TA certification documentation to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with MEP delivery teams, subcontractors, and subject matter experts to define applicable requirements for MEP Systems and identify appropriate verification and validation evidence.
  • Identification and decomposition of new and existing requirements.
  • Support activities that are undertaken by the MEP TA Team, to include but not limited to;
    • Monitoring progress of TA deliverables and feed that progress into the programme.
    • Assist with maintaining Configuration Control in relation to Changes imposed on the project.
    • Contributing to Technical Assurance activities required to achieve MEP Single Assurance Pack
    • Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Formal education such as a Degree or HND. Preferably in an Engineering or Construction related subject. Otherwise work related experience in construction or engineering, such as an approved apprenticeship will be considered
  • Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook a must
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills

Desirable

  • Exposure to, or an interest in Systems Engineering and Technical Assurance
  • Experience within MEP or Rail would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools, particularly IBM Rational DOORS

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
