Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you will be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

About The Role

You are to have strong collaborative leadership skills to create, develop and maintain Managed Services; you need to be agile in approach in maintaining strong strategy, objectives, and goals relating to the operational service lifecycle of technologies, locations, platforms, and solutions using the AIA/ASD S-Series Integrated Product Support (IPS) specifications, Defence Logistics Framework (DLF) and ITIL methodologies.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Implementation of the Technical Documentation programme of work including the TDMP and the provision and maintenance of associated contractual documentation and programme plans.
  • Co-ordination of the authoring activities required to support the SA process in the provision of information for an online library.
  • Implementation of the TDMP.
  • Assistance to the BT ILSM in the negotiation and review of contract/sub-contract requirements.
  • Reviewing data supplied by subcontractors and provide review and comment reporting as appropriate through the BT ILSM.
  • Collaborating with all SME areas to collect technical documentation data.
  • Attending formal and ad-hoc project review meetings.
  • Undertaking and reporting on Technical Documentation (TD) activities as directed by the BT ILSM.
  • Advising on ILS TD issues and initiatives

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Previous demonstrable experience in a technical author / writer role
  • Worked in a quality driven environment utilising a technical control system, for example a regulated industry
  • MS Excel, Word & Adobe PDF– intermediate to advanced user (Styles, Cross reference, Caption)
  • Demonstrable technical document writing experience
  • Knowledge of Def. Stan. 00-600 / 00-601 / S1000D

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Broad engineering experience
  • An understanding of systems integration and/or systems engineering would be advantageous
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools
  • Experience of CAD manipulation for the development of technical illustrations.
