Senior Technical Author
£53,000 - £6100 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Hybrid Working
We're partnering with a leading organisation operating within the UK's critical infrastructure sector to recruit a Senior Technical Author to join a growing Technology Operations team.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of technical documentation standards across a complex enterprise environment spanning cloud platforms, data centres, end-user computing and operational services.
You'll work closely with architects, engineers, cyber security professionals and senior stakeholders to create clear, engaging and accessible documentation that supports operational excellence.
What You'll Be Doing
- Producing high-quality technical and operational documentation
- Creating user guides, process documentation and technical specifications
- Establishing documentation standards, templates and style guides
- Managing document lifecycle and version control processes
- Collaborating with technical SMEs across infrastructure, cloud and security teams
- Improving documentation quality through stakeholder feedback and operational insight
- Supporting continuous improvement across IT operations

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Technical Author, Technical Writer or Documentation Specialist
- Experience documenting enterprise IT systems and services
- Ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly content
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online
- Experience with Git, GitHub and Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of Confluence and Markdown
- Degree in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline
