Jarrow, Tyne and Wear

Expervent, part of the MARCH Group, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Author & Document Controller to join our growing team in Jarrow.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised individual with strong technical writing and document control experience. In this role, you will be responsible for producing, coordinating, and managing project documentation, ensuring all documents are professionally presented, accurately referenced, and controlled in line with company procedures and ISO 9001 standards. Working closely with our engineering team, you will transform technical information into high-quality, client-ready documentation while maintaining robust document control processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce Operation & Maintenance Manuals, design reports, method statements, commissioning records, and technical query responses using information provided by the engineering team.
  • Prepare and maintain client document templates, design review forms, and technical query trackers, ensuring information is accurately transferred between client and Expervent formats.
  • Review and edit documentation for clarity, structure, grammar, consistency, and adherence to company standards and templates.
  • Coordinate document review and approval processes, tracking comments, responses, and final approvals.
  • Manage project document registers, folder structures, and revision histories, ensuring superseded documents are archived appropriately.
  • Issue, track, and record document transmittals to clients and stakeholders.
  • Verify document numbering, references, and revision statuses across documents, drawings, and registers before issue.
  • Maintain document control systems in compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and provide supporting records for audits.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of document templates and procedures.
  • Handle sensitive client information in accordance with company and customer security requirements.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support the business and the wider project team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
