We are looking for an experienced Technical Author to work within a highly technical environment, partnering closely with SMEs at the Met Office.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with technical SMEs to understand complex systems and processes.
- Produce clear, structured technical documentation that can be understood by both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Translate highly technical information and jargon into accessible, user-friendly documentation.
- Document message switching systems, including associated processes, procedures, and technical requirements.
- Review and improve existing documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and usability.
- Gather technical information through SME interviews, workshops, and existing materials.

Key experience
- Proven experience as a Technical Author / Technical Writer.
- Experience documenting message switching systems is essential.
- Strong experience working directly with technical SMEs.
- Excellent ability to simplify complex technical information.
- Active SC Clearance required.
- Comfortable working within complex, secure technical environments.
