Are you an experienced Technical Business Analyst with a passion for data, technology, and process improvement? We're looking for a talented individual to play a key role in delivering innovative legal technology and data transformation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, improve client outcomes, and support business growth, (N.B this will be a fixed term contract until December 2027)
Working closely with stakeholders across legal, operational, technology, and data teams, you'll be responsible for gathering and translating business requirements into effective technical solutions. You'll help shape the future of our legal systems, data platforms, reporting capabilities, and integrations, ensuring that technology continues to support the evolving needs of the business.

As a Technical Business Analyst, You Will
- Work with business stakeholders to identify, analyse and document business and technical requirements.
- Translate complex business needs into clear functional and technical specifications.
- Support legal technology, data transformation, system implementation and continuous improvement projects.
- Analyse data and utilise SQL or similar query languages to support data profiling, validation, reconciliation and reporting activities.
- Document data mappings, business rules, transformation logic and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with development, delivery, data and operational teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives.
- Support data migration activities, including analysis, validation, mapping and testing.
- Assist in designing and improving workflows, case management processes and system integrations.
- Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering sessions and stakeholder meetings.
- Produce user stories, acceptance criteria and supporting project documentation.
- Contribute to Agile delivery processes, backlog management and governance reporting.
- Support reporting and dashboard initiatives, providing insight into operational and business performance.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, GDPR, audit and regulatory requirements throughout project delivery.
- Help identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements and enhanced user experiences across legal and business services functions.

What We're Looking For
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Data Analyst or similar role.
- Experience delivering legal technology, professional services, regulated industry or data transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of legal case management systems, workflows, matter lifecycles and related operational processes.
- Knowledge of databases, data models, data structures and system integration principles.
- Hands-on experience using SQL or similar query languages for data analysis and validation.
- Experience documenting technical requirements, business rules, data mappings and transformation logic.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data migration methodologies and data integration approaches.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working within Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
- Strong stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in regulated environments where auditability, compliance and governance are critical.

Desirable Experience
- Experience working with legal case management, workflow, document management, practice management, finance or claims systems.
- Knowledge of reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI.
- Understanding of data governance, GDPR, metadata management, retention policies and data quality frameworks.
- Familiarity with legal technology integrations including finance platforms, document generation tools, client portals, e-signature solutions and payment systems.
- Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart or similar tools.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications such as BCS Business Analysis, Agile certifications or data-related professional qualifications.
