Technical Business Analyst | Major UK Government Programme | North England | £400/day | Initial 6-Month Contract with high extension potential
There are Business Analysts who write requirements, and there are Technical Business Analysts who understand what engineers actually need to build something. A major UK government programme needs nine of the latter — and they need them now.
The Role
A Tier 1 systems integrator is delivering one of the largest digital transformation programmes currently running in UK central government and needs experienced Technical BAs across North England — Blackpool, Leeds, and Newcastle. The work is primarily technical: you're not mapping end-user journeys. You're translating complex system and integration problems into structured, build-ready requirements that engineering teams can act on. Nine roles are available under the same brief. Hybrid working applies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
