Technical Business Analyst | Global Electronic Trading | London
Miller Maxwell is working with a leading international electronic trading firm on a project that's genuinely rare in capital markets right now — the scale, the profile, the visibility. They need a Technical Business Analyst to sit right where it counts: at the point engineering, product, and the firm's biggest clients all meet.
You won't be one BA among many, quietly working a backlog. You'll be the person both sides come to — the one who turns technical complexity into business sense, and business need into a spec engineers can actually build. Real ownership, real influence over how the project takes shape, and a seat at the table from day one.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Duties for the Technical Business Analyst:
- Working directly with clients to unpick what they actually need, not just what they've asked for.
- Sitting with engineering, product, and sales to turn that into requirements that hold up under scrutiny.
- Juggling several fast-moving workstreams at once without losing sight of the bigger delivery goals.
- Explaining gnarly technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders in a way that actually lands.
Background and experience required for the Technical Business Analyst:
- A STEM degree (2:1 or above).
- 5+ years as a Technical Business Analyst in financial services, specifically within electronic trading — front-office, brokerage, exchange, an ISV, a software vendor, or market data.
- Experience within Equities or Fixed Income markets.
- Enough familiarity with Java, Python, or C++ to hold your own in an architecture conversation, even if you're not writing the code.
- Strong stakeholder management, equally comfortable with senior leadership and engineering teams.

Why this one's worth a look:
It's rare to get access to a project of this size this early. You'd be joining a global, forward-thinking team with real investment behind it — one that treats BAs as strategic partners, not ticket-writers — with genuine scope to grow as the programme does.
