We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join a high-profile, efficiency-driven transformation programme within a leading banking environment. This role will focus on identifying process inefficiencies, defining AI-enabled opportunities, and driving technology-led improvements across the organisation.

The successful consultant will work closely with senior business stakeholders, engineering teams, and product leaders to assess current processes, define future-state solutions, and support the delivery of AI and automation initiatives. This is a highly visible position requiring strong technical credibility, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence decision-making at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with senior stakeholders to understand existing processes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with multiple technology and engineering teams to gather requirements and assess technical feasibility.
  • Define, document, and prioritise AI and automation use cases aligned with existing platform capabilities and strategic objectives.
  • Create clear current-state and future-state process maps and workflow documentation.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications, including user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead backlog creation, refinement, and prioritisation activities alongside Product Owners and delivery teams.
  • Conduct hands-on testing and validation of delivered solutions, including SQL-based data analysis and testing.
  • Present recommendations, delivery options, and trade-offs to senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, data governance, risk, and regulatory standards.
  • Support Agile delivery practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years' experience as a Technical Business Analyst within large-scale banking or financial services technology programmes.
  • Proven track record of working with multiple engineering teams and senior business stakeholders in complex environments.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting or delivering AI, automation, or advanced technology initiatives.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to independently analyse, validate, and test data.
  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, software development lifecycles (SDLC), and technology delivery frameworks.
  • Experience documenting business processes, requirements, user stories, and solution designs.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Financial Services or Capital Markets experience is essential.

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to Generative AI, Machine Learning, or Intelligent Automation programmes.
  • Experience working within large-scale transformation or operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture, data governance, and regulatory frameworks within banking.
