Job Description
About the Role
You’ll join a specialist data governance team supporting a major organisation to assess its current governance position, gather requirements and develop a clear, practical data governance framework.
This is a hands-on role combining business analysis, data governance and stakeholder engagement. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, facilitate workshops and turn complex findings into structured, usable deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support requirements-gathering sessions and stakeholder workshops.
- Assess current data governance arrangements, processes and controls.
- Identify gaps, priorities and requirements for a future data governance framework.
- Develop clear written outputs, including findings, recommendations and framework documentation.
- Work closely with data governance specialists, consultants and other Technical BAs.
- Help translate governance requirements into practical approaches that work across business and technology teams.
- Bring an understanding of the technologies that underpin data governance, particularly within AWS environments.

Requirements
- Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst, with practical data governance experience.
- Good working knowledge of DAMA principles and data governance best practice.
- Experience contributing to, designing or implementing data governance frameworks.
- Strong workshop facilitation and requirements-gathering skills.
- Confidence engaging senior stakeholders and challenging constructively where required.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to turn complex findings into clear deliverables.
- A proactive, self-starting approach with strong judgement.

Experience working within a regulated or complex enterprise environment would be advantageous
