Technical Business Analyst (Client-Facing) | Umbraco CMS Specialist
Our client, a well-established digital agency/consultancy, is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst with specialist Umbraco CMS expertise for an outside IR35 contract. You will provide independent BA and Umbraco expertise across client engagements, leading workshops, shaping requirements and translating business needs into clear, buildable solutions on Umbraco.
Scope of services
- Plan and facilitate client workshops to discover goals, pain points and requirements
- Capture, analyse and document business and functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
- Provide specialist Umbraco advice on content modelling, document types, editorial workflows and platform capabilities
- Produce technical specifications in collaboration with developers and solution architects
- Contribute BA expertise to Agile delivery, including backlog refinement, sprint planning and prioritisation
- Manage client expectations, scope and change in a professional, outcome-focused way
- Deliver process maps, wireframes and supporting documentation as required
- Support UAT, release planning and post-launch optimisation

Essential skills and experience
- Proven track record as a contract Technical or Digital Business Analyst in client-facing engagements
- Specialist, hands-on Umbraco CMS expertise (ideally recent versions, including Umbraco Cloud and headless/Content Delivery API)
- Strong workshop facilitation with senior and non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent requirements gathering and documentation, including user stories and acceptance criteria
- Solid Agile/Scrum experience, using tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Clear, confident communicator, able to bridge business and technical teams

Desirable
- Understanding of .NET-based web development and integrations (APIs, CRM, DAM, eCommerce)
- Experience delivering Umbraco migrations or upgrades
- Agency or consultancy background across multi-client web projects
- Knowledge of SEO, accessibility (WCAG) and content strategy
- BA or Agile certification (eg BCS, IIBA, PSPO/CSPO)
