Technical Business Analyst
We're looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join our Credit Origination & Decisioning team, supporting the continued evolution of CAM, a strategic credit platform serving multiple business areas across the organisation.
This is an opportunity to play a key role within a modern, interconnected technology platform where business analysis goes far beyond requirements gathering. You will partner closely with business stakeholders, architects, engineers and QA teams to shape solutions, analyse complex data and integrations, and help deliver enhancements that improve business processes and customer outcomes. Working from discovery through to delivery and validation, you'll help ensure solutions are practical, scalable and aligned to Investec's cloud-first technology strategy.
We are looking for someone who is curious, pragmatic and collaborative. You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy solving complex problems, take ownership of outcomes, build strong relationships across teams and are comfortable navigating ambiguity while helping drive technology change. Working within a close-knit UK and South Africa team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute beyond traditional business analysis activities and help shape the future of a strategically important credit platform.
What will I be doing?
- Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to understand business challenges and translate them into clear, technically credible requirements and user stories.
- Participate in discovery, refinement and solution design sessions, contributing both business context and technical insight.
- Analyse end-to-end business processes, system interactions, integrations and dependencies across the wider credit platform.
- Investigate data, validate requirements and support problem-solving activities using SQL and other analysis techniques.
- Document data mappings, interface requirements, API behaviours, JSON structures and field-level relationships across systems.
- Work closely with engineers and QA teams throughout delivery, ensuring requirements remain clear and aligned to intended business outcomes.
- Support release readiness, post-implementation activities and production issue investigation as part of the team's shared support model.
- Maintain delivery visibility through accurate Agile tooling, traceability and end-to-end lifecycle management.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
