Technical Business Analyst

Inside IR35 Rate: £650-£690 per day (Umbrella)

Location: Farnborough (Hybrid - 2 to 3 days per week onsite)

Clearance Required: Active MOD SC Clearance

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Technical Business Analyst to join a complex, multi-supplier technology programme delivering critical business and operational capabilities.

This role will suit a Business Analyst who combines strong requirements engineering skills with a solid understanding of modern technical architectures, integrations, APIs, data platforms, and cloud-native environments. You'll work closely with users, SMEs, architects, suppliers, and delivery teams to ensure solutions meet operational needs and are delivered successfully across the programme lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead workshops with users, SMEs, stakeholders, and suppliers to capture operational requirements and business needs.
• Develop and maintain use cases, user journeys, workflows, acceptance criteria, and operational outcomes.
• Elicit, analyse, document, and prioritise both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Maintain end-to-end traceability from requirements through design, development, testing, and acceptance.
• Conduct impact assessments, gap analysis, and support governance and change control processes.
• Coordinate requirements across multiple suppliers, ensuring alignment and successful integration.
• Define requirements for:
  • APIs and integrations
  • Data exchange services
  • Data platforms and data fabrics
  • Containerised and Kubernetes-based environments
• Review supplier deliverables against business and operational requirements.
• Support architecture, assurance, verification, validation, and acceptance activities.
• Identify and manage risks, dependencies, assumptions, and integration challenges.
• Produce key project artefacts including requirements specifications, workflow models, traceability matrices, use case catalogues, and assessment reports.
