Job Description
Technical Business Analyst - SC Cleared
Hybrid Working but flexible in High Wycombe, Farnborough
5-6 months initially
£660 per a day inside IR35
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join a complex, mission-critical technology initiative. In this role, you will act as the crucial bridge between operational stakeholders, system architects, and multi-supplier delivery teams.
You will lead end-to-end requirements engineering from initial user elicitation and workflow modeling down to technical integration requirements for modern containerised and data-driven architectures. You will ensure end-to-end traceability, robust governance, and seamless cross-supplier integration to deliver operationally effective, resilient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Engagement and Elicitation: Lead interactive workshops with end users, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and external suppliers to capture operational needs, use cases, and business processes.
- Requirements Engineering and Governance: Elicit, analyse, document, and prioritise functional and non-functional system requirements. Conduct impact assessments, gap analyses, and drive requirements change control.
- Process and Use Case Modeling: Develop and maintain key operational artefacts, including use case catalogues, user journeys, workflow models, requirements specifications, and gap reports.
- Supplier Coordination and Integration: Manage dependencies, assumptions, system interactions, and information flows across a multi-supplier landscape. Facilitate clarification, alignment, and technical integration discussions.
- Technical Definition: Define detailed requirements for modern platforms, including containerised/Kubernetes environments, data fabrics, APIs, integrations, and data exchange services.
- Traceability and Quality Assurance: Maintain end-to-end traceability matrices from high-level operational needs through design, testing, and acceptance. Review supplier deliverables against requirements and operational outcomes.
- Risk Management and Acceptance: Identify and mitigate risks, issues, gaps, and inconsistencies across requirements and solution designs. Support architecture, assurance, verification, and validation activities.

Key Skills And Experience Required
- Proven Systems and Business Analysis: Strong background in systems analysis, requirements engineering, and operational process modeling within complex technology programmes.
- Multi-Supplier Delivery: Demonstrated experience working effectively across complex, multi-vendor or multi-supplier environments.
- Technical Breadth: Capability to capture requirements for containerised/Kubernetes platforms, data fabrics, API frameworks, and data exchange mechanisms.
- Traceability and Governance: Hands-on experience maintaining end-to-end traceability across the full delivery lifecycle (requirements design testing acceptance).
- Workshop Facilitation: Exceptional communication skills with a track record of driving clarity and consensus among technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

Desirable Experience
- Defence Sector Expertise: Familiarity with Ministry of Defence (MOD) development practices, governance frameworks, processes, and policies (e.g., Joint Service Publication (JSPs), Secure by Design, etc.).
- Public Sector / CNI: Prior experience within UK Government departments or public sector projects involving Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) or mission-critical systems.
