We’re hiring: Technical Buyer
📍 Coventry | 💷 £51,000–£58,000
An established engineering and automation business is looking for an experienced Technical Buyer to lead purchasing for automation projects, technical equipment, and day-to-day operations.
Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Finance, you’ll get involved early—helping shape supplier selection, project costs, and purchasing decisions before commitments are made.

- Sourcing and evaluating suppliers for technically complex projects.
- Negotiating pricing, commercial terms, and supply agreements.
- Assessing supplier capability, capacity, quality, and delivery risk.
- Challenging costs and identifying practical alternatives that meet technical requirements.
- Managing supplier performance and supporting projects through delivery.
- Improving purchasing processes, reporting, and cost control.
- Coaching and supporting a Procurement Assistant.

We’re keen to hear from candidates with technical purchasing experience in engineering, manufacturing, or automation. You’ll bring strong negotiation skills, sound commercial judgment, and the confidence to work closely with technical teams and challenge proposals constructively.
