Senior Engineering Buyer

London, UK (100% Office-Based)

The Opportunity

An established international trading and procurement organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Buyer to join its London-based Engineering team. Operating across multiple global markets, the business supports major manufacturing clients throughout the Middle East and works closely with suppliers across Europe and Asia.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute engineering procurement professional who enjoys managing supplier relationships, negotiating complex agreements, and delivering value within an international trading environment.

Working as part of a small, highly collaborative procurement team, the successful candidate will play a key role in sourcing spare parts, engineering equipment, and assemblies for a diverse portfolio of industrial clients. The position offers exposure to international procurement activities, supplier development and the opportunity to visit both customers and key suppliers.

Please note: this is a fully office-based role based in London, with no hybrid or remote working available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities for engineering spare parts, assemblies and industrial equipment.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and the Engineering team.
  • Build, develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and manufacturing clients.
  • Identify, evaluate and onboard suitable vendors to meet commercial, technical and logistical requirements.
  • Prepare and manage enquiries, quotations and purchase contracts.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial agreements and supplier terms to maximise value and profitability.
  • Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives across the supplier network.
  • Ensure a professional, consistent and commercially focused supplier management approach.
  • Provide mentoring and support to junior team members.
  • Work closely with clients operating in sectors including FMCG, food and beverage, confectionery, edible oils, sugar refining, cement manufacturing and power generation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
