Company Description

At McLaren, our mission is to set the standard for high performance in sport. And everyone, in every part of the team, has a role to play. So if you want to test your ideas with the world watching... And measure your progress in milliseconds... And play your part in racing history... You belong here. High performance starts with you.

Job Description

As a Technical Buyer, you will support the timely and cost-effective procurement of engineered components for our racing programmes and performance upgrade plans.

Working within the Technical Purchasing team, you will collaborate with engineering, programme and supplier partners to meet critical delivery milestones. You will use your purchasing expertise to resolve day-to-day supply challenges, optimise supplier performance and contribute to the continuous improvement of our procurement processes.

What You'll Do

  • Manage purchasing activities for allocated components or work packages, from request for quotation through to delivery.
  • Create and maintain accurate purchase orders, monitoring supplier delivery, quality and performance against programme requirements.
  • Partner with Project Managers and Engineers to provide procurement updates, identify risks and coordinate recovery actions.
  • Maintain effective supplier relationships, support negotiations and provide cost, capacity and lead-time information to inform make-or-buy decisions.
  • Help develop our supply base and improve procurement processes, with a focus on reducing lead times, optimising cost and strengthening delivery performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
