We’re working with an established and growing General Insurance business that is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Claims Handler to join its team on a fully remote basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced claims professional with a background in Motor and/or Home Insurance who is looking to take on a more technical role, dealing with complex claims and having greater ownership over decisions and outcomes.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of technically complex claims from initial notification through to resolution, using your experience and technical knowledge to assess coverage, liability and indemnity and determine the appropriate course of action.
You’ll deal with a range of stakeholders including customers, brokers, insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors and other third parties, ensuring claims are handled fairly, efficiently and in line with policy terms and regulatory requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
