Technical Claims Handler

Bristol | Hybrid
Up to £45,000
Permanent | 35 hours per week | Monday–Friday (2-3 days in the office)

There are Claims Handler roles where you simply manage your own caseload.
This isn’t one of them.

We’re partnering with a fast-growing specialist insurance business in Bristol that is continuing to invest in and grow its claims function.

They’re looking for an experienced Technical Claims Handler who can become a go-to technical expert within the team — handling the more complex claims yourself, while supporting and developing the wider claims team.

It’s an excellent opportunity for an experienced Claims Handler who enjoys the technical side of claims, wants greater responsibility and likes helping others make better decisions.

What will you be doing?

  • Handling complex claims
Own more complex, high-value and technically challenging claims from notification through to settlement
Assess policy coverage, liability, quantum and overall claims strategy
Review reserves, indemnity decisions and settlement outcomes
Identify potential fraud, coverage concerns and claims requiring escalation
Ensure claims are handled fairly and consistently in line with FCA requirements and insurer mandates

  • Becoming the team's technical point of contact
Act as the first point of referral for technical and procedural queries
Support Claims Handlers with complex customer issues and disputes
    Provide technical guidance and coaching
Help improve decision-making and technical capability across the wider team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
