Company Description
Cotervia is building sustainability into everyday systems so that responsible choices become the default rather than relying on perfect individual behavior. The organization is rethinking how recycling works by addressing confusing rules, inconsistent infrastructure, and the lack of meaningful feedback for users. By redesigning materials, incentives, and daily interactions, Cotervia aims to make sustainable choices simpler, clearer, and more rewarding. The team works at the intersection of design, technology, and policy to create practical solutions that can scale in real-world environments.
Role Description
As a Technical Co-founder at Cotervia, you will help shape the product vision and build the technical foundation for solutions that improve recycling and sustainable behavior. This part-time remote role involves designing and developing early prototypes, selecting and implementing core technologies, and iterating quickly based on user feedback and pilot results. You will collaborate closely with non-technical co-founders to translate system-level sustainability concepts into actionable product requirements and technical roadmaps. Day-to-day, you may work on data models, APIs, and user-facing tools; evaluate technical feasibility of new ideas; and set coding standards, architecture patterns, and security best practices. You will also contribute to fundraising discussions, technical due diligence for partnerships, and long-term scaling plans.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
