About the Role
We’re looking for a Technical Commercial Manager to help us scale Shellworks by building a high-quality pipeline of opportunities in personal care & wellness. This is a broad commercial role for someone who enjoys talking to and managing customer relationships whilst working on technically complex projects. In this role you will need to expertly coordinate with multiple parties internally and externally and creative problem solving, rather than sitting in a known and understood sales process.
Working closely with our founders, commercial director, in-house designers and engineering team, you’ll help turn Shellworks’ commercial signals in new markets into commercial opportunities.
This role is perfect for someone who can combine creative problem solving with commercial focus turning customer insights and market knowledge into measurable results. You’ll have high autonomy, work closely with the leadership team, and the chance to shape how Shellworks enters this new growth stage.
Key Responsibilities
As Technical Commercial Manager at Shellworks, you’ll work in the below areas:
- Technical Sales & Business Development: Own the full sales cycle for bespoke projects: prospecting, qualification, scoping, proposal, negotiation and close.
- Build and defend commercial proposals: Own the proposal creation to develop pricing, timelines and technical specifications with engineering, manufacturing and creative support.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the bridge between the customer and internal teams (engineering, manufacturing, design, materials) ensuring technical feasibility and managing handoff from sales to delivery.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build long-term relationships with technical buyers, procurement leads and senior decision-makers. Manage key accounts post-sale to identify upsell, renewal and referral opportunities.
- Strategy & Insights: Provide market and competitive intelligence to inform product development and go-to-market strategy

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
